Any one tell me about these bikes

We happened to be gazing through motorbike window w/end & wife like this ( I know ) , but she has a point I’ve gone round in circles for 2 yrs where bikes are concerned , it’s local , reasonable price , looks a new , but I’ve no knowledge of triumphs , would it be fun for just a blast on a sat / sun afternoon ? The colour is bothering me , I’m not a yellow fan. , but I could live with it if it was ok for just a blast at w/end , I really need to get something brought as mrs said , you’ll be 70 at this rate before you buy something , thankyou .
This was what I originally wanted 2 years ago when I set out on buying a bike , but nephews , mates with bikes said it will be a disaster waiting to happen , far to fast etc for a 63 yr old who’s not had bikes for apx 20 yrs , but I had a similar break from bikes and got a fireblade / r1 & lastly a cbr1000 & I didn’t kill myself .
I think that’s why I’ve spent 2 years going round in circles , everything seems 2 nd best to a zx10r
Surely if I ride it sensibly I’d be ok , I know I’ve never had a bike with all the technical stuff on it , but it can’t be that difficult to pick up can it ?
I’ve a feeling if I buy the triumph/ ktm / gsx-s I’ll always be thinking , I should have gone with the heart .

I say get what you want, I go a bit slower these days as I'm not out that much so looking at stuff more similar to your first choices to go with my xjr custom thingy, but I couldn't have just one bike unless it had an unneeded large capacity engine in it. If your heart wants the 10 you're going to be dissatisfied with anything else. Would suggest a test ride if you can get one first, just to make sure.

If you had a break & came back to a Blade and R1 I'd think you'll be fine with the speed aspect
But after a 20 year gap you might not be so fine with the position - but only you will know that

I love a Speed Triple (the Yellow Triumph) very uniform power delivery with torque everywhere and sound great with the arrow lowboy (in the pic)
but some find them boring due to the uniform power delivery
It would have to be a very cheap 790 to buy one at the minute with KTM's issues
But after a 20 year gap you might not be so fine with the position - but only you will know that

Wise words k off it ! I flew to Scotland to buy the perfect Speed Triple after I'd enjoyed short rides on them in the past. Rode it back over two days - enjoyed it but found myself barely riding it afterwards as my SM basically does the same job but is more comfortable
At 63 if you want to ride it, get the comfortable bike, if you want to look at it get the sports bike
Or buy the sportsbike so you can tick that box and then buy a comfortable bike to ride too
I'd ask if a local motorcycle training school would do you a 'refresher' and assessment on one of their A2 bikes be it a Z650, SV650 or MT-07.
I changed bikes in April/May 2023 partially as I was spending too much time trying to decide which bike to go for. I am OK with my choice as my sensible reasoning for getting it, and the bike I had before, still apply.
I think roads and driving have changed a lot since the early 2000s. There's more camera enforcement and vehicles with dash cams.
The reduction in speed limits isn't an inconvenience to tearing around for me, it's on roads I've driven since I passed my test and done many times at the previous NSL limits that are now 40 and 50 limits.
I've ridden 3 or 4 of the early KTM Duke 790s with over 100bhp. I like them a lot. I like the torque, the noise, the size, the responsiveness and the looks. I like the aluminium seat subframe in silver. I don't like the stuff like condensation in TFTs and possibly in LED lamp units. I don't like the ownership niggles. For me a motorcycle is a toy, it's function as a toy is sub optimal if I need to go to the dealer to get it mended or have to wait for parts.
I've spent a bit of time hanging around a hospital recently and been checking out the motorcycles parked around the site. A Hornet 750 seemed to have little beads of condensation in the front LED indicator/marker light units so it's not just KTMs that can get condensation in the lamp units. Unfortunately there's an early Z1000SX in that heavily metallic flaked green and I've probably spent minutes gazing at the paint finish on the tank. It's unfortunate they don't have a good headlamp as standard. Waiting around at hospitals whether it's for me, a relative or a friend's partner at visiting time is one reason I don't have time a toy creating more hassle and another demand on my time at the moment.
One reason I've not bought a Duke 790 is I did 120 miles or so on one one dry and bright afternoon on roads I've used since I passed my test when I was young and I couldn't use the performance for fear of getting caught. I am not sure if I've seen 100mph on the speedo of my bike I've had almost 2 years and done over 4000 miles on. On one of those roads I was wary of opening up the Duke 790 on due to sight lines and chances of getting caught I've since ridden on a chilly early January Sunday evening there was someone on an overpass in a high vis. vest holding what looked like a speed gun.
It seems the ZX-10R has the sort of appeal to you that Duke 790s have to me, but I'd be spending a lot of time trying to resist temptation and beating myself up for buying something I can't use much of for fear of risking my driving licence.
I bought a bike in 2023 on the basis of 'get it done, stop looking and get on with something else you should be doing' but I am still looking at adverts for faster, less fuel efficient motorcycles.
I am thinking a sit up and beg, naked may be easier to ride and have fun than something with clip ons if you live in or ride through the urban sprawl.
Diversity, we're all different but just getting out on a nice day on the country roads and having some me time, with less demands from others in my own little bubble can be beneficial and helpful.
In 2023 during some nice weather I had a loaner Royal Enfield Meteor 350 in yellow. I had as much fun on that as any other motorcycle I've ridden. The image may've been a bit tragic but on the 120 mile round trip I did on it, the lack of performance on the roads I used wasn't that much of a problem.
With hindsight the 2025 version of me may have been a different person and in a different place if I had got back on motorcycles sooner.

Have you had any insurance quotes yet?
Insurance seems to be getting expensive for some and BvG of 44 Teeth who seems well connected with BMW dealer(s) said that BMW dealers have had customers cancelling orders because the insurance is too much.
Someone on PH was mulling over an alternative to the new 1300 BMW GS due to the insurance cost.
