Save London Motorcycling - Camden Bike Parking Charges

Camden have released the final statutory consultation on their motorcycle parking charges.
It would be great if as many people could respond to oppose this as possible. This is our chance to stop them or force further changes.

Those Camden plans again in full... (these are just the first year's charges - most will double in the second year):
- Parking permits for residents', businesses' and doctors' motorcycles charged as if they are a type of car
- Solo motorcycle bays charged at £2.60/day costing £600/year for a commuter
- FoI reveals that 1 in 7 riders - those living in 'car-free developments' - face charges up to £950/year - more than any car
- Other residents' permits to nearly double from £75 to £146/year
- Only 1 permit allowed per person so those with both a car and a PTW will be forced to sell one
- Introducing motorcycle business permits at £419/year and doctors permits at £326
- Charges even for electric motorcycles - £75/year for residents, £300 for commuters, £500 for residents of 'car-free' developments

I'll send a response to oppose but... council's are struggling and need the rev. I appreciate things would be better if they were free however but they aren't asking for that much really. I think I paid £1.60 for bike parking when I commuted to Paddington a couple of years ago, the parking was over subscribed, if it is a good income generator maybe we'll see more spaces or improvements like use of all bus lanes: If you don't contribute you don't have a voice.
I'd rather they taxed people who could afford it; cars and bikes are not a necessity in London given the public transport network and selfishly if that means less cars and bikes competing for space that's a good thing (for me). I believe you can register 3 vehicles on a single permit ( tariff for most 'polluting ' vehicle applies). The alternative is a raise in council tax and busines rates and that impacts a lot more people who are struggling already but they'll probably do that as well.
Edit: i used the impact to the vulnerable and their carers as the primary objection as it would implement a barrier to care for those already struggling financially which will put a heavier burden on the councils already stretched services.

TBH I see a more complicated picture - powered two wheelers can be used for travel across London in a way that doesnt contribute to congestion. But they are also an important tool for many to get out of London.
Personally, I would like to keep my freedom, and dont see the argument for bike parking to be charged at the same level as cars.
Its also a bit of a thin end of the wedge situation.
