Track day brake pad recommendation
Discussion
Lots of people seem to have bad things to say about EBC but I run them on cars and bikes and never had a problem. In fact the only problem I’ve had with pads was SBS when I tried them because everyone said how good they were. I think I got a duff set because they were genuinely awful.
The gpfax are a good track option.
If you don’t want to risk EBC can you get Brembo?

Dual Carbon...just have to remember to pump the brakes a bit in pit lane otherwise you're definitely running deep at the first turn
Isn't that generally just giving it pad transfer onto clean discs and a bit of heat rather than anything on the hydraulics side of things? i.e. also why that type of pad is not wonderful for road use.

It doesn't take a lot, literally a few 'grabs' or a nice long gradual brake into your first corner or two but if you forget and get a bit excited in the morning it can be a bit hairy!!

Brembo Z04's seem a bit patchy availability wise whereas the EBC are on the shelf and at a decent price too! The gpfax are a good track option.

Thanks all for your responses, I'll see how they go.

I've run the Z04, and they are a great pad but at my level have settled on the Brembo RC Race Pad for trackday use, I get great performance and decent longevity out of them, tried various alternatived but keep coming back to these ...
I was looking at these and seem a great alternative to the Z04. But once again, availability seems to be the issue.
I think I'm going to open a PO Box across the border in the US and get stuff shipped to it and then pop across once a month to collect. Availability in Canada is terrible compared with the US and typically, shipping is free in the contiguous states whereas many vendors won't ship internationally.
Thanks again

Would be happy to post direct to you if you want Steve.
Appreciate it chaps, amazing, thank you
I'll try the EBC flavour for now. I've reached out to my contacts in the US to see what they're using and where they get them from.
I do think that having a PO box in the US will help down the road

Accossato ZXC, best pads I’ve ever used, they don’t have the initial bite of the Z04 but easily equal them on overall power and they also seem to last a bit better.
It really baffles me these pads aren’t more well known and more popular on the TD scene.

Evening all...
Getting the Duc ready for the TD season and need to change out the oem brake pads.
Normally I'd be using SBS but they hard to find however EBC GPFAX seem readily available.
Any experiences, good or bad or alternative recommendations??
Cheers
I've used GPFAX's for years Steve, Brembo Z04's are the boys but there isn't much in it for us mere mortals.Getting the Duc ready for the TD season and need to change out the oem brake pads.

I've used these places in Niagara, not sure if there is something similar closer to you. You just drive across and pick it up.https://www.americanmailbox.net/

After a bit of digging there's something very similar just over the bridge at Ogdensburg in NY. https://www.americanmailbox.net/

Free to register and only 5.99 to collect so dead easy. And it's only about 40mins and a million US border guards away.
Must remember to leave the sombrero at home....
Somewhat embarrassed, but I use GOLDFREN Hahaa
When I bought my track bike, I thought the brakes were one of the best things about it. Most of my track passes are on the brakes, so can’t be bad. CBR600RR 2007, Brembo MC and Braking fully floating discs.
When it came to needing new pads I didn’t want to change anything about the setup….was pretty surprised to find it had GOLDFREN pads. Hahaa I’ve stuck with them, work well for me & cheap….hahaaa
