Not cars, I find loud exhausts on cars entertaining. I’m talking about annoying little Jeb ends, particularly recently ( last couple of years ) in my locale, that seem to think it’s ‘skibbidy’ to ride around at 2 A.M. ( or there abouts ), on stupid little ( illegal ) motorcycles ( probably 125 at most ) with the centre sections missing, or obvious race cans, on the exhausts. I’m no stranger to loud motorcycles, I like loud bikes, at bike racing events. but these things are louder than some old GP500 race bikes, ridden by complete tools, seemingly just to piss people off, who live where they ride around. My local plod have form, for pulling them, usually ending with numerous other offences uncovered, and the bikes being crushed. But every time they sort a couple out, more appear in their place. Is it a new fad or something, to get the most obviously illegal exhaust on your ste heap bike, and deliberately ride around at stupid times, just to try and wind people up?

Yes.

Get the police out there arresting more of them.

Loud exhausts on cars are just as bad. If you have a loud exhaust on your vehicle, everyone in your neighbourhood hates you. It really is that simple, nobody gets a free pass.

There was a cracker of a post from H&IOW police ( I think ) a while back. A particularly obnoxious specimen, was on their radar, but every time they tried to stop him, he failed to stop, and rode off down footpaths, and parks, and the police ( quite rightly) called it off. But the idiot tried it with a trafpol, who’s clearly had enough, and put a ‘hard stop’ on the tool in question. They put a post on X about it IIRC, with a picture of the bike under the front wheels of a marked police car, and the idiot’s lid on the bonnet of the police car ( like a trophy ). I can’t find it, but it did make me laugh.

There’s loud, but not illegal, then there’s these guys. The noise is seroius. I don’t like loud ‘pop bang’ merchants ( there are loads about recently) ,but these motorcycles are way way louder than anything I’ve heard from a car, on the road. I don’t think anyone would be stupid enough to drive a Ferrari FXX or similar track only hyper car on a public road, however, I fear I may be about to be proved wrong hehe

I know what you mean and I agree, they are horrible sounding things. I don't think they're any worse than the hot hatch idiots though, and they come with the added bonus of a 1600kg hammering through villages and towns in a moronic attempt at impressing pedestrians. Or the halfwits who wind their windows down so everyone else can hear their crap 'not music' as they drag their undertrays up and down the high streets.

So glad I live out in the countryside now.

Motorcross style bikes are the absolute worst!

During the summer some knobhead kept thrashing one round in the early hours of the morning, for weeks on end.

No idea what sort of bike/engine it was but it just sounded like a constant wet fart, such an irritating noise.

I think you have to be a bit of to have a loud exhaust full stop.

Even some legal ones where they have valves in the exhaust are so obnoxiously loud.

The trend of decatting and straight piping 125’s is annoying and ridiculous ,the 125 brigade at bike meets make ear splitting noise , i live in the sticks and the loud piped cars can heard 2 miles away !
I assume they are heading back to luton .

Strange way to spell penis: is that a local dialect?

I like loud exhausts, whether that's on my Speed triple, 990sm or various V8 cars

It's an integral part of enjoying riding and driving. It's one of the main reasons I hate electric vehicles

Fortunately I don't care what you think biglaugh

The ONLY way you get action on this is to constantly chase your Councillors and MPs or confront the riders yourself.

I may or may not have done so and as soon as the MP got involved we had multiple police patrols per day inc marked RT1200s riding up and down alleyways. One guy actually got a custodial sentence for riding his stty Surron and getting knocked off it!

I full on lost my st at some bd on a Surron the other day who cut me up. Followed me for a bit until I stopped and accepted his "pull over" threat at which point he sped off.

Another one this evening on a pit bike up and down the pavement. The wet wipe neighbour near me just gently asked "please not on the pavement mate" whereas my "fking get off it and fking push it!!!" actually worked to get him to go home...

Rant over!

What does "skibbidy" mean in this context?

Anything to do with those heads in toilets, that my 5yo finds hilarious?

There's a local FB near me for 125's mostly. Every single one that comes up for sale, bike is a death trap with a brand new fart cannon on it. I keep trrying to leave but some of the stuff posted is too entertaining.

I changed the original exhaust on my kh250 to expansion chambers as soon as I got it , not sure how loud that would be in comparison to the bikes the op is speaking of , but according to dad it had the whole close complaining & I was told to roll it down the close & start it on the main road .
We were all young once !!
