Why don't easy jobs ever go to plan..

First issue was the sump plug being rounded off ,

An oversized torx and a bit of heat later..

Then to finish off the job, the 916 decided to leave me a present on the magnetic sump plug

A rogue woodruff key

Eek. I am guessing that is off the flywheel but don’t know how it could get to the sump.

Looking on some forums, it would suggest one of these two holes feed back to the sump plug area

So yes definitely pointing towards the flywheel. I guess it's a good catch as it was an engine failure ready to happen

I managed to snatch defeat from the.jaws of victory...

Sold my old KTM subject to a test ride, to a friend of a friend, its been standing so I cleaned the main and pilot jet, still not quite right

Decided to clean the carb properly, done it many times and as I was fitting the main jet back in, it snapped off
