Been informed by my current insurer that they will no longer be giving me the same premiums as their underwrite is no longer insuring bikes, their next best quote doubles my premium.

Who are people with?

One modified bike and one standard, limited miles, max NCB and all the usual good stuff needed for insurance.

Cheers.

Insurance is very individual, I could turn around and say company XXX are best for me, but they might turn around and say they wont insure you.

Comparison sites are a great tool to get an idea.

It'd definitely worth trying different comparison sites too. I recently renewed car insurance and moneysupermarket had a range of NCB up to 20+ years. Other site like confused only went to 9+. As I have over 20 years it made a £150 difference inputting 20+ rather than 9+.

I actually found the comparison sites good for cars this year. Been through 5 insurers this morning and they are all "calling me back" as the modified bike (wheels and suspension) are proving issues.

I've stayed with BeMoto this year, their package is unbeatable for me, old in 50s, bike in a garage, no commuting and no pillion.

I cannot fathom how someone can become a grown adult, earn enough money to get a licence and run a vehicle yet STILL not understand how insurance quotes work - that EVERY other prices is irrelevant to your situation.....

Thanks for the help. Get out of bed on the wrong side or something petal?

I was actually looking for those who are still insuring bikes and anyone who has experiences with getting modified bikes insured, as it is always that that give me issues. Or maybe people would have had different customer service experiences, or claim experience.

Anyhow.. for anyone else who, like me, isn't a fully formed adult, unlike our superior specimen above, or is just interested. it is definitely the suspension and wheels that are giving Bennetts issues. BeMoto and Bikesure are taking it in their stride and offering a multi-bike policies that are still not as good as last year, but better than quoted.

I have had claim experience with BikeSure, and it wasn't terrible.

Seems that AXA have pulled out of underwriting bikes.

Are you commuting? I found that suspension mods were a big issue if under a commuting policy, but not if it were just SD&P.

Sorry, but Biker9090 does have a point. Your OP, no age, no postcode, no occupation, no accident/conviction history. You might as well say "my shoes are too tight, what size is everyone else wearing?"

Answer....the size that fits......THEM.
