Hi all, my sena sf2 has packed up after 2 1/2 years, won't charge anymore. Only use it for listening via Bluetooth for sat nav and radio. Any recommendations or ones to avoid? Looking at a cardo spirit, basic model., don't really want to spend loads if they only last a few years, maybe I was unlucky.
Ta!

Watching with interest as my Sena SF packed up last month after 2 years, same thing, just won’t hold a charge.

99% Sat Nav, 1% Music or Sync with friends.

Angling towards Sena ST1 at £149.99 but the stories of them filling with water have made me think twice (Even though never ride in rain, may get caught out one day).

I got rid of a Spirit HD I got as a pillion unit. Nowhere as good as our 5 year old Packtalk units. Also note the non Mesh units do not automatically reconnect which gets very wearing

Bought a new battery and when i took it apart to change it had water in it, won't work with either battery so assume water has done it. I ride in all weathers so not very keen on another Sena after that, don't know if cardo any better, or a 40 quid chinesium job will last a couple of years.

My Cardo Packtalk Edge has had half a dozen good soakings since I got it. No issues. Mesh works well, great sound from the JBL speakers. Not cheap, though - I got a twin pack on Prime day with 0% finance.

My freedcom unit cost like £30 and has lasted since 2019....

I had to replace the earpiece but that's only because I caught it on something and pulled hard instead of untangling it.

I got a cheapo pair of moman intercoms from amazon, think they're about £100 for the pair.

Used them for a year now in all weathers, did 1800 miles in a week in the summer and the only issues we had was a very occasional connection issue, usually solved by a switch off and on again.

The sound isn't great for music, but if the mrs calls me she says it's clearer than being in the car!
I do wonder what the benefits are of spending 3x the amount.

You don’t get connection issues requiring turning the unit to be turned off and back on again.

The sound is decent for music.

To answer the OP. We’ve had Packtalk Bolds for about 6 years now and if I had to replace them I’d replace with Packtalks again.

I had a pair of spirits. Mine were unreliable ste that got returned.
Your luck may vary.
My group now have fodsports fx7 mesh units. They work very well and have so far survived scottish rain.
The fodsports gave a lot of hiss with my sennheiser earbuds, but perfect sound with all the other earbuds i have.
