I remember when it was a thriving forum run by Ben.

Now it seems to be the publicity arm of The Bike Specialist,it’s no wonder I don’t visit it any longer and only see it in my Google news.

I struggle to see how the Visordown website keeps going. Its an unusable mess.

I'll have a look at MCN from time to time and also the videos on Youtube but its not great in either respect.

I'm glad it's not just me - with an adblocker the format is broken, without it's just beyond spam.

To be fair this forum is incredibly quiet compared to it's heyday which I'd say was maybe 10-15 years ago?

Used to be loads of social meetings, people touring together, racing together and all sorts so you may have a point!

Facebook took all of that over and has done for some time.

Look at Bikechatforum as an example, only about 7 (senile, angry old duffers) use it on a regular basis.

Have to agree, FB groups have steadily replaced forums, much easier to access and get a response to, maybe not the banter etc that forums brought, but any questions I have I fire into an FB group before heading to a specific forum.

Although not motorbikes - singletrackworld is the same. It's just dull. Once upon a time it was full of witty, funny and interesting posters.

Most are getting older and can't be arsed, like myself.

I've met a lot of people from here (your good self included) and everyone has been spot on. (even the Southerners)

I remember being in MCN - there was a trio of us, me, DirtyBill and ChopStickJim (both now sadly passed away) and we used to get banned off it all the time - I remember doing stuff like embedding autoplaying midi file links in the subject lines of posts in a full stop so the main forum page would do stuff like play “begin the beguine” when you opened it. The joys of primitive html forums.

Most people moved onto VD when Ben started it. I remember “forum raids” when we would go on US based Harley Forums and so on - you could wind them up a treat, get death threats, gun threats etc it was top fun.

Ah, the halcyon days of visordown with its steady stream of girly bikers, was a fun place and still speak to a few of the ex posters.

Now, Noddingdogs, THAT was a fun forum.

Anyone remember the nightly PH Super MarioKart races on Nintendo 64 or was it the Wii.
