1976 Kawasaki Z900 B - What are they worth
Discussion
Hi there,
I’ve been offered a PX for a diamond Green US Import 1976 Kawasaki Z900B with 12400 miles on the clock. The engine has not been rebuilt but the rest of the bike has including Wheel bearings, Fork Seals, swinging arm bearings, brakes, seats.
I have zero clue about motorbikes so have no idea wheat the thing is worth, or where the market is for them.
Any ideas on here?

The Bs or LTDs are the least desirable of the Z900/1000s of that era. Semi custom style with a smaller back wheel and tank being the most obvious differences.
I might be being a bit harsh but I'd say 50% of the value of a simular condition Z900a4
£5000-6000 for a very very good one
Be aware the values of this era of bikes rose during covid and are now dropping but there are a lot of guys out there still over valuing their bikes

I don't know anything about this era of Kawasakis but a quick Google showed several that have sold at auction for a lot more than that? I might be being a bit harsh but I'd say 50% of the value of a simular condition Z900a4

This is a Z900B
This is a Z1B(mine)
OP can you confirm which model you're talking about?

Thanks Jan. The owner valued his at between £10 & £15k - gulp.
Looking in the internet, I’m confused on values too. Is a Z900B the same as a Z1B?
I’ve tried joining the Z1 owners club but they haven’t granted me access yet. I’m assuming there’ll be a knowledge on that forum.
Cheers
If its a Z1B he's about right but prices are dropping. I'm in the owners club and lots of great info there just remember like all owners clubs we can overvalue our stuffLooking in the internet, I’m confused on values too. Is a Z900B the same as a Z1B?

That looks like a Z900A4 from the paint colour, twin front discs, No reflectors on the front forks
Might be an American import as its got the shorter rear mudguard but its a common mod as they look better
Bikes do get changed and modded over the years and a few dressed up as a different model
Do you have the frame number
Copied from Zed Power so lots of details here
https://www.z-power.co.uk/the-z-zone
1973 Z1 Z1F-00001 through Z1F-19999
1974 Z1-A Z1F-20000 through Z1F-47499
1975 Z1-B Z1F-47500 through Z1F-85700
1976 Z900-A4 Z1F-85701 through Z1F-138846 for bikes manufactured in Japan
KZ900-B1 LTD Z1F-500001 through Z1F-510340 for bikes assembled in Lincoln Nebraska
THE KZ900 LTD FRAME NUMBERS RAN FROM KZ900B-500011 THROUGH 505514
Edit Z900a4 worth a wee bit less than a Z1B so closer to the lower end of his value IMO You will see adverts for the higher prices but they stay up for sale for a long time.

Just had a closer look. So do your checksI think that's a Z900B dressed up as an A4. The square brackets on the rear of the frame near the rear footrests are(I think) only on the LTD models. Obviously he's also telling you its B and not an A4. Its clearly had some money spent on it but it won't be worth the same as an Z1A.Z1B, Z900A4
