Having seen these constantly appearing on detailing videos popping up on social media I find myself coveting one and I've no idea why. Has anyone got one on here partially tailored for cleaning bikes, are they any good? I see they range from about £25 to £80, any recommendations or just stick with the lance for cleaning the bikes.

I think turning down the pressure on a standard lance is all you need but happy to be corrected.

There’s a difference between need and want though!

I thought motorbikes could just go in the washing machine, or dishwasher if it’s a heavy one and awkward to get in/out.
Sorry I have nothing helpful to contribute really.

Mines doesn't have that function, I did however get the Nilfisk 110 bar one as apposed to the 140 bar unit for cleaning the bikes. So I've kinda done that in a way already.

Are you referring to something like this?

You can get ones that connect to your jet wash if that is an option. They work really well.

I use snow foam every time I wash cars or bikes, let it dwell for 5 to 10 mins and it helps loosen dirt and gets into all the little crevices.

Ahhh, i can see me losing several hours on youtube looking at reviews, i'm not sure i see much of a benefit, but if you want one why not. I bought a tip where you can direct the spray at an angle for cleaning the underside of cars and bikes without needing to get on my hands and knees, but his just looks like you'd have to work harder to get any job done, chances are it would get left in a drawer and I'd just use the standard lance.. but I have a lot of tools like that so that's never been a deal breaker..

I got one for £18 from TikTok and its great - Its attached to my Karcher k3. It makes life easier getting into tight spaces on the bike or car, and it uses universal quick connect fittings which makes finding lances and other attachments super easy.

The standard Karcher lance was good for quickly switching between spray patterns (twistable lance) but there were only 3 settings vs the 5 different nozzle attachments that came with the stubby.

I've been using it for a couple of months and build quality is good, some minor rust showing on one of the attachments but this has more to do with me leaving it attached after use for a couple of weeks.

I bought one of these Muc-Off kits a couple of years ago: https://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/products/muc-of...

I didn't actually expect it to last too long, but it's still going strong and works well.

Worth a go at £30. Can still mount a snowfoam bottle. Does look a little easier to handle. I generally prefer the soap and wash mit removing the dirt rather thatn sheer pressure of the pressure washer getting it off.

Ive been meaning to update on this. I bought one of eBay, I was going to buy the trigger gun from where I got my snow foam attachment but they were showing out of stock constantly.

After looking at several detailing companies products I quickly came to conclusion they're buying them off temu and sticking their sticker on it, they're all the same.

£24 I think it cost off eBay, then £4 for a 1/4" male to quick connect adapter for my snow lance. Seems worth it though. A bit fiddly to start with, finding out what nozzels are best for that cleaning stage. Two aren't worth a fk, one would peel the flesh off your bone, the other is like a hooker spitting on you. I only tried it out on the car, but it was great for alloys, around the arches and especially the roof, it's Fantastic for doing the roof.

The biggest plus is I didn't seem to tie myself in a knot like I normally do with the hose and lance. It swivels round as you use it on the connector. Dunno what it'll be like on the bike, but very impressed with it for the motor.

Get the muc off washer package. I think they're £100 brand new but I just got one for £45 secondhand inc bag and all attachments. It has different nozzles on it for motorbike, bicycle, standard etc.

I ordered from the above about 5-6 years ago along with a Nilfisk 110, it's been perfect. I don't have any issues with it at all but am about to give it to my parents and buy another kit with the extended hose length this time around. Even the neighbours at my old house bought from this site after enjoying my snowfoam game from their bedroom windows!

I've attached a handy guide to the differences between nozzles, careful with the finer one because, as you say, it'll strip flesh (and paint) if you're not careful!

Just realised the thing the op is talking about is a Stubby Gun.

My Avo pressure washer came with one. I now never use the lance for car washing.

Set about 3 bikes on Sunday with the gun and just used the white connection for them. It was utterly fantastic, even better than using it on the car. I could get it in nice and close using the white connection without any worry of damage or washing grease out etc.

in regards to the muc-off pressure washer kit mentioned, my mate has one for MTB's. I wasn't that arsed with the reducing of the pressure it was just nice that you can have different options with this gun. I was primarily looking to get rid of my lance, which the muc-off has, it always felt a bit cumbersome cleaning motors/bikes. The guns well worth the £20 odd quid.

Whilst I can see a stubby gun could be handy in certain situations. Surely the entire point of the lance was to keep you an extra metre away from the spray ?

I had a 0-90° attachment for mine which worked well underneath cars / bikes etc

With it on the white one you can run your hand through it, it's not going to damage nothing but much better than a garden hose. it's a the perfect jet for getting under the bike and into the headers, swing arm, the inside of the fairing etc. With the lance and the power of one as you say, you had little chance of properly cleaning under a bike especially at the meter distance you had to keep.

Of course this wouldn't have been such a relevation if I had a variable jet wash lance, I got the gun for the manoeuvrability,
it's just a nice added bonus.

I've wanted one of these for a while but wasn't sure about my snowfoam lance. I have a nilfisk pressure washer, the lance has a nilfisk adapter that goes onto the nilfisk gun. So if I bought one of these stubby guns with a nilfisk adapter, what does my lance need?
