At the point of getting rid, have you changed your mind?
Discussion
After 4,500miles I decided to sell. I had found a buyer but something niggled me. Looking at what next I kept returning to 'but the finish isn't as good' or 'it just doesn't have the presence' etc.
So. I took it on one last ride today and said no. She stays.
Anyone else done this? Usually when I get itchy feet I go through with it and regret afterwards.

You've got a good bike, and as black-K1 put it on another thread, they've got a way of getting under your skin. The bike does everything well, what does it not do that you want it to? My R1200RS never quickened my heart when I looked at it, but I'd smile about the journeys I'd had.
The 1250, on the other hand, is awkwardly pissing me off.

I have owned quite literally hundreds of bikes over the years and only regret selling two, a Triumph Trident 750 and a Triumph Daytona Super III.
The Trident was immaculate and ran like a dream and I regret more selling it to the person who bought it rather than selling the bike itself.
At the time, I had recently had a near miss where I got clobbered by a set of ladders falling off the roof of a van I was overtaking and my head was in the wrong place.
The Super III was a bike I just bonded with right from the start.
Stupidly, I only sold it because I had the chance of a brand new Bandit 1200 for buttons when a dealership collapsed and couldn't afford it otherwise; fk knows what I was thinking.

The only one I was geuinely sad about was the VFR1200F.
I had a moment of complete and utter stupidity and did come very lose to getting rid of my CBF500 and keeping the CZ, so determined I was to get it working..... Luckily sanity prevailed. I'll probably never part with the 500.
Can only really justify 2 bikes at the moment due to space and time - 3 was getting in the way.

Yes I did pretty much exactly this the other week with my Ducati 999, buyer was coming to collect in a couple of days, I went into the garage to sweep up and took the cover off.....that's all it took, had to message the buyer and tell him it's staying with me. I'd have been upset with myself had it gone.So. I took it on one last ride today and said no. She stays.

Last year.
3 times went to dealers, found a bike I liked, got the P/X value which was good and was ready to pull the trigger…. Then stopped.
Similar issue, every bike I looked at had to compromise something from my current bike that I liked.
When I rode away, didn’t regret the decision at all. Always seems to happen after I’ve not ridden for a few weeks. Get back on my bike and can’t think of a single reason I want to change it.
Will eventually but for the foreseeable, I’m sticking.
