KTM990 Adventure, standard or R?
Discussion
Hi, I'm looking to get a 990 Adventure, for a mix of road riding and the odd gentle trail here in North Yorkshire. Is the standard bike good enough for off-road, or should I hold out for an R?
Previous bikes have been mainly road sports bikes (sv650s, GSXR750, Yamaha R1) which sucked me in to track days, the Nurburgring (3 years of annual passes), interspersed with the odd Alpine tour.
The Adventure would start tour centric slowly building towards a bit more off-road. I'm trying to stay away from the heroin known as the race track, so any thoughts/tips appreciated on where to start with a 990 and what to look out for.
Thanks.

The standard Adventure is still capable of holding it's own with modern bikes and going around the world - a few green lanes won't trouble it
I took mine around an MX track the other week - admittedly it bottomed out in a few places - the lads on 'Crossers couldn't believe how well it went around
Loads of footage on Youtube of them doing everything
