Think its time for a new rear. Got just slightly under 3k from this mitas.

But safe to say its fked now. Do muddy offroading most weeks, plus a few long rides with a pillion.
Top priority is dirt performance, second is longevity.
Dont care if its a comprimise on the tarmac.
Any suggestions?
If 3k miles is all i can expect from a knobbly do i just go for a budget like a kenda big block, or is there something that might last a bit longer?

I understand the Motoz are good for mileage, I think I'll fit a set of Tractionators once the current AX41s are done.

I was about to post the same - I've just bought a set of Motaz Rallz for my 990

I think the Adventure will last longer though

Which Mitas is that? I got significantly longer from the E07+, which was also really good off-road.

Its an e10.
Great offroad. Onroad tc light is on, a lot.

There’s not much else in the big knobbly department other than the Mitas and TKC 80’s.
Maybe the Heidenau Scouts but if offroad is the priority, you’ll struggle to get much more out of an 80/20 tyre.
I blew through a TKC80 rear on my 1190 years ago in about 3000kms of on and offroad use in Malawi and Mozambique…. Fun though hehe

His is a 150bhp bike with a rider that likes using the throttle...

I still think the E07+ would last longer, try one of those. IMHO it's the best on/off road tyre out there.

I’ve currently got a set of Mitas E10 on my transalp which seem to be wearing quite well and are good off-road and on. Previously had E-07 and tkc80 on and the E10 are definitely the best off-road of the bunch and they all feel pretty equal on road.

I’ve just put some Kenda Big Blocks on my 990 Adventure and I don’t see them lasting very long with a bit more power and torque but that bike does entice a lot of throttle useage! They seem good off-road so far though

If short tyre life is the price for this much fun i am happy to pay.
Might try the e07 dakar though, how is it in muddy/shale bings?

I've just removed something very similar from my 990 could even be an E07

Fine on the road, ok when dry off road, absolutely horrific when wet, off road

Just had first ride on the motaz tonight, night and day difference but obviously they're not going to last as long

I checked they are the E07+

Horrific in anything wet or muddy I was going sideways, front and back, following mates on knobbly equipped bikes who were riding without an issue
