It's that time of the week again! Anyone got bikey plans?

I was planning to drag my Norton onto the bench at dads where it got recovered back to after seeming to lose its clutch, but as I've got covid I think I'll have to stay away from him as he's ancient so it'll have to wait.

I'm feeling pretty grim anyway so I reckon that's a good excuse to lay on the sofa and watch the MotoGP, although my mrs also has covid so it might be a fight for the remote hehe

Anyone got any exciting bikey plans?

If I remember I'll just be checking the chain tension on my 1290GT. Every time I ride without earplugs I hear it slapping about at certain moments, get paranoid, check it, find it ok, and carry on.

Fitting some tank grips to my vitpilen and taking it for a wee ride to see how they work.

Got my third track day on it booked for croft in a few weeks with No Limits.

Keen to get to a point where I can get my knee down I'm getting impatient. Hoping the tank grips help with confidence. Booked No Limits since they have instructors.

Wainfleet bike meet tomorrow lunchtime, last time I went there some lovely Laverdas there so I'll probably pop over for an hour.

Not sure about Sunday, the Wragby county fair is on so I might go by bike.

‘Tis indeed The Wee Run Frae The Doc's Auld Hoose, to give its full name wink I’ve done it every year and it’s a good event with a really interesting selection of bikes.

I was in communication with Alistair (who I think organises it?) when he bought an Enfield combination the same as ours and wanted to know its width to get it ferried back to Scotland. He often asks if I fancy doing the run but it clashes with the Irish rally. Maybe one day though as it looks a lovely event, just a matter of how to get the sidecar outfit the 450 miles to get there hehe

I have a 3 year old and a newborn, therefore the only riding I'm doing is commuting to work and back. Weekends are for "fun" activities such as dinosaur themed parties, dinosaur shows at theatres, dinosaur races, DINOSAURS F'ing EVERYWHERE!!!

I'd love to drain the fuel out of my BMW R100RT as it's off the road this year and remove the front wheel from the 1290GT to get the tyre swapped but I'll probably have to book a day off work for that.

You older gents don't know how lucky you are.

I have very fond memories of my dad’s R80RT, we went all over on that bike. Ex police but painted metallic red it was a lovely old thing and never let us down.

Oh and I’m not old we just chose no kids so we don’t have to deal with dinosaurs hehe

If I can be bothered I might fit new chain and sprockets to the SV650 and unsieze the rear caliper.
I can 100% guarantee that won’t get done but the intention is there at least.

My Tuono is due for replacement in March so I wouldn’t mind trying to get some test rides in a couple of bikes while we still have some dry and warmish weather. So I’ll see if I can make a start on doing that on Saturday.

Sunday, if it’s dry I might head out for a bimble about.

Sold some bits to a mate so we have agreed to meet up at squires (He's camping there for the weekend) tonight.
Might then take the long way home.

Old bike collected, needs a couple of things fiddled with but running great. Watched quali, did chores, now trying to squeeze the Sprint race in before going out for family meal. Will try not to overdo it tonight so I can squeeze a quick ride in tomorrow morning. wink
