2003 Yamaha R6 Front Tyre Profile
Discussion
Hi, first time poster, long time lurker! Apologies for a tyre thread as first post, but am looking to replace the Pirelli Angel GTs on my 03 5SL R6. I was hoping to fit the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa as I had them on another bike and really liked the turn in and mid lean confidence and am doing the odd trackday, but they only come in 70 profile on the front, whereas stock size is 60 profile.
There are mixed views on the net as to whether this is ok or not, seems that it might require faffing about with mudguard clearance and possibly ride height. Has anyone used a 70 profile instead of a 60 and how did you get on?
I’m a slow intermediate at best on track so perhaps I’m better just to go for the standard Diablo Rosso rather than the Corsa as it comes in a 60 profile?
Thanks for any help!

I'm not so active on here anymore but just see this post and wanted to put my bit in having owned 3 * R6s
I'd definitely go to a 70... But I would also highly recommend a steering damper
It's the only bike that gave me a violent tank slapper
As for the 70, I found it turned sharp, fast and better front end feel
