To revive an ancient tradition on here, who’s doing bikey things this weekend?

I plan to drag my Velocette Venom out this arvo and give it a clean and see if it’ll start, it’s been sat for a couple of years now.

I’ll also be watching a bit of the MotoGPs as and when I’m there.

Anyone else got bikey plans?

I'm off to Devils Bridge Cumbria on Sunday with the Alnwick lads, hopefully I'll get to catch up with Jazoli.

I've just insured my Honda CB600 after having it sat in the garage for the past 3 years doing nothing, MOT tomorrow, hopefully it passes so I can go out for a ride.

Turned over first time with some new fuel, haven't ridden since COVID so a little nervous about getting back on the bike

I didn't ride for ages after covid for various reasons but there's a reason why there's the saying "it's like riding a bike..." hehe

Fingers crossed it passes thumbup

Mrs K1 and I are going to visit some friends in Bicester for the weekend. We'll be using the bike to get there this evening, coming home on Sunday. It'll be Mrs K1s first ride out on the new (in March) bike. I doubt she'll notice a difference! hehe

Stripping the bodywork off of the back end on the CBF500 and repainting it in rustoleum satin black.

Might go out on the strom on sunday somewhere.

If the weather stays dry up here Mrs F & I will head out on the Zzr, it’ll involve some local battered delicacies & hopefully sneak a picture of a bin in the background smile

Sorry John no can do I’m still on crutches post op and getting around is a pain, especially with no car parking at the bridge on a Sunday smile

Can't see why it wouldn't pass, unless anything age related has perished whilst it's been stood, it's 24 years old after all, so definitely a possibility.

I have some white Hammerite to cover up the rust on the frame of my *checks notes* 3-year-old Africa Twin.

Which route do you take for that? Quick Google maps look seems to go via Stanhope, Brough, Kirby Stephen?

Or do you go via Alston and Hartside?

That is poor! 80,000 miles and 18 years on my CBF and it's only the odd small bit that's showing through.

I might, get this, ride out this weekend. Might try The Old Stores. Might even throw a sponge at it and paint some rusting bits but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Nice to see the tradition resurected! Unfortunately, I'm on call this weekend which limits my riding but does give me fettling opportunities.

Hope those going out get nice weather!

Supposed to be dry in the west of Scotland this weekend. Really hope to get out at some point. Would be good to get a couple of hours, even if it's just to go to Helensburgh via Drymen, Balloch and Faslane. See what family commitments I have too. Seems a few of us in Scotland, reading above.
