As above, Anyone have one?

Considering the expense of bike nav, these seem to be a good alternative to strapping a phone to the bars (I use an old spare).

Just want something for maps and audible when on the go.

I've been sent one to test out and review but haven't unboxed it yet! Hopefully get the video sorted this month after I've stuck it on a bike
From others I've seen and trust they look quite simple and relatively well built but it is just a basic screen for mirroring your phone (same as a car android or apple play I suppose)

I think it's a great way to keep your phone in your pocket. I've read there are cheaper alternatives but I'm not sure how good the unbranded ones are or aren't - possibly made in a similar factory close to where the Carpuride ones are? From any social media posts it seems the Capruride folks have decent customer service

I should be having a discount code to share that gives me a kickback but I also believe there's cheaper ways to buy. I've seen some used on ebay for around £100 for example!

I have the carpuride W702 on my 1290 SAS

I'm quite chuffed with it tbh. 180 quid from Amazon is more than the Ali express versions by quite a bit, but peace of mind etc

Edit. Just need to edit pic!!!

I also have the w702 permanently mounted to my tiger explorer.
It ticks all the boxes, android audio, audio control and all goes through my cardo.
Highly recommended...

I have tried 2 of the Ali express options on 2 of my bikes, and they are really good - especially at £50/60.

I’ll do a full review when I’m at my PC. But there are pros and cons - the biggest being the Bluetooth relationship between your phone, CarPlay, and any comms you may be on.

In my opinion if you’re riding as part of a group on Senas/Cardos then I can be frustrating, but it’s great when you’re not

Hi, have you managed to get Spotify/music and also Navigation to play through the Cardo at same time?

I have one and it is fine for one or the other and has a nice touch screen display - but ..... I cannot get both to work, let alone adding the next tier of complexity to Cardo chat at the same time. I haven't exhaustively tested it yet though.

For info - it is with Apple CarPlay I am using.

Try changing the output device to the phone in the w702 settings page. It defaults to the (not connected) headset.

I have never heard of these but I really like the look of it.

I can't quite get my head around how it works though.

At the moment I use Google maps/Calimoto and Spotify music on my Android phone connected to my sena headset. With the phone mounted on the bars.

The idea of a better screen permanently on the bike and my phone staying in my pocket sounds ideal.

Does the Carpuride just display the map from the phone or does it have it's own mapping?

Would my Sena intercom still work with other riders?

Everything you see on screen is generated by your phone and apps

The app has to specifically support Android Auto or Apple Carplay so I can't confirm calimoto would work but every other navigation app I've tried does work on Android Auto as you'd hope.

The 5" version of the carpuride for bikes is currently less than £150 if you have Amazon prime.

Ok thanks. Is my phone connected to the Carpuride unit via bluetooth? Can I still connect my Sena unit to my phone via bluetooth if the phone is connected to the display screen ?

Perhaps we should do a Carpuride comparison with the Ali-Express specials - because these were loads cheaper

£54.07

£77.34

Question:

Assuming that I buy a 702 with the BMW mount, and its paired to my phone and headset.

Can I mute the turn by turn Nav using the Carpuride or do I need to do that in Google Maps on my phone ?

Can I run my Packtalk in mesh still with other riders ?

Finally can I run spotify to my headset whilst still in Mesh Packtalk ?

Thanks all.

All the reviews on the tubes that I watched looked a bit sus to me. Looks like some decent experiences here.

One thing I do know is that Calimoto will not work with Android Auto.

I generally hate buying stuff direct from China, but those are intriguing. What do you search for?

No worries, found them. They do seem good value: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006924396493.h...

I wonder how long they last...

Everything would be done via the Carpuride screen. Works exactly the same as if you're using Android Auto/Apple Carplay in your car.

Funnily enough was just looking at a screen fitted on a GS in the Facebook forums.

He was really pleased with it so I went back for another look and it was a Carpuride. So it’s a thumbs up on his behalf.

I thought about these today.

What exactly am I gaining by using this instead of my phone and a quad lock mount?

Nothing really, other than your phone stays safe, and you can leave this permanently mounted I guess?

I wish they made a smaller one.
