Bananas and motorbike boots…

As we have all have come to find out, anyone doing motorbike trips this year is likely being impacted by a bit of rain here or there.
Same happened to us on a trip to Luxemburg last weekend.
The usual items dried quickly and easily overnight thanks to radiators, using towels etc - ie helmets, jackets, helmet and so on
Wet BOOTS
My old Daytonas kept my right foot dry, but my left foot was in a swimming pool by end of day.
I vaguely remembered a BBB budget bike battle video where Chris put a banana in his boot and said next day it was dry. I called “bs” at the time but thought to myself, I need to do something let’s try it.
Desperate for a solution as my left boot was drenched, overnight I tried sticking a banana in there and…
Unbelievably to me, the banana came out of the boot looking fairly similar to how it went in (was a bit smelly) but the most important part of this story - the boot was dry again and no smell.
Sure it wasn’t “desert” dry, but my god it was ~80% better and I was ecstatic.
CONCLUSION
Wet boot during your motorbike trip? Stick a unpeeled banana in there and you’ll see what I mean.
There you are, you learn something new everyday.
