New Triumph 400 Scrambler X
Discussion
Well, I honestly thought my biking days were over, but I was mooching about in a local Triumph dealer yesterday and per chance saw one of these,
Unlike the "road going" new 400 it did not look like a small middleweight bike, the quality was first class, and whilst a few hundred more than the RE Scram 411, looked more "premium".
I realise it would not be suitable for serious "off road" stuff, but for trundling around on, as a weekend toy I am seriously tempted.
Online reviews are positive too.
I've had around ten Triumphs over the years and been happy with them all.
This was my old Scrambler in 2007

I've been looking at a few of these style of bikes around the £4-6k price range. Including the Triumph, obv the RE 411s (less than £4k!), and the newer RE 450s (£5k+?). Looked at the RE 650 Int and the BSA Goldstar too, can be had for not much over £5k!
I also then noticed the Honda CL500 which I didn't even knew existed, which can be had for less than £6k too.
Out of all of those, I'm thinking the Honda might be the more sensible option if a bit bland?
Edit - also a RE Guerilla 450 is due out soon,

Yes, there are plenty of options around this price.I also then noticed the Honda CL500 which I didn't even knew existed, which can be had for less than £6k too.

The Honda is probably a nice bike, but as you say, a little bit bland.

On Monday I placed an order for a 400X Scrambler. Delivery should be at the end of this month/early August.
It should be perfect for the minor (often single track) rural roads around me. I’m really looking forward to it. I borrowed one back in March when my Tiger was in for a service and was really impressed.

I haven't 100% made my mind up, because I thought my biking days were over, and I only saw it yesterday, but I think I'll probably take the plunge.
I don't think there is anything about it I don't like.

To be fair, the RE Scram can be bought for £3899 on the road. The 400X is £5795 OTR, but it does have 66% more power.Unlike the "road going" new 400 it did not look like a small middleweight bike, the quality was first class, and whilst a few hundred more than the RE Scram 411, looked more "premium".

(I don't have anything else to add, sorry)
