So more out of necessity rather than want, I'm changing my own tyres on my fleet of 2 wheeled conveyances....
The nearest bike shop is an hour away and only really want to change tyres they have sold and with the bike there... not really a workable option at the moment.

So I have been using the usual equipment on my trials, enduro and Adv bike, such as a bead breaker tool, rim guards, decent spoon style levers and lots of window cleaner as lubricant (works REALLYwell!!!).
By and large, it's OK but keeping the tyre in the drop centre has always been the challenge, especially on the road based tyres... although some of the enduro tyres have been a ball ache....

So after seeing the latest Rabaconda tool become available, I nearly had a heart attack
with it being priced at over $1200. At this price point, its just not viable for my usage case. However, there is a tool in the Rabaconda kit that caught my eye. Basically, it's a tool to keep the tyre in the drop centre once you have broken the bead on one side...
Looks like this....

So, after dropping my mate Bezos a line, he pointed me in the direction of some equivalent items from Chinesia. As is the way with a Prime membership, Mr delivery truck appears a couple of days later with my goods in hand...
So today was the first opportunity to use them.... and the verdict??
Bloody fantastic!! rofl
Means that you can easily manage the front of the tyre into the drop centre without worrying about the backside and makes the process so much easier.
I just changed the old track tyres on my spare Duc in around 30 mins excluding removal of the wheels and balancing.
Don't think these are compatible with the edge strung GS type wheels but for normal rims, night and day better....
If you're doing your own tyres, you really need to get 3 or 4 of these.

So now you know wink

Not sure I would use a split link with them though.
