Any Ducati Multistrada V2S or 2024 Tiger 900 GT Pro riders?

I'm looking at downsizing to a mid adventure/touring bike and looking at these two.

Obviously the Tiger is a good couple of grand cheaper than the Ducati but to my eye the Ducati does look slightly better looking but now the £2-3k difference. I've seen 2022 Ducati for £14k or I can get a new Tiger for £14k, thinking the head says Tiger 900 as its newer and more warranty...

Anyone on here riding wither with any views?

I've recently switched from a 2018 Tiger 800 XRT to a V2S. Before making the decision to go with the V2S I test rode the 2023 Tiger 900 GT Pro but wasn't keen on vibes that came through to the bars from the engine. It's had some mods for 2024 which apparently fix what I didn't like about it. The Triumph will have a better spec out of the crate, heated seats being one feature which you can't get as an option on the V2S. The V2S you are looking at may have some of Ducati's 4 year warranty left.

It's worth looking into servicing costs. When I did the comparison based on the mileage I'd use mine for and the length of ownership the cost difference wasn't that much but the Ducati will need belts changing based on age/mileage.

Probably not of interest but some points I've noticed between the 800 and the V2S. I've found the V2S to be more on the sporty side, it wants to be getting a move on. The Triumph was a "lazier" ride whereas the V2S is more involving but covering distances isn't an issue. Would need to stop for a leak before either became uncomfortable. The Tiger feels like you are sitting on it, whereas the Ducati feels like you are sitting in it.

In the limited time I've owned the V2S the only real fault I've found with the V2S is the screen, I've tried both of the Ducati offerings and they both cause noise in different amounts. This isn't uncommon looking at the forums and a fix for one rider my not suit another.

Thanks, yes I wasn’t keen on the last Tiger so I’m having a test ride of both the bGtPro and Rally Pro, it was simply the vibes were too much but apparently they have rectified that.

I’ve seen a nice 2022 V2S but the dealer won’t give me as much as Triumph will on the part ex value which is stopping me tbh, £500 less than Triumph.

I don’t think I’d let £500 on a £14k bike sway me away from the one I really wanted.

I have a 2022 Tiger 900 Rally Pro and love it (the vibes don’t bother me) and the general fit, finish and reliability is excellent.

I’ve never tried a Multistrada though.

Just to add that I had the same engine in my Ducati Monster 937 and it really just wanted to go

Fine out on the open road but a right pain in the city, especially with 20mph limits everywhere. Got tiresome.

Swapped it for a Speed Twin 900 which is far more relaxed when going slowly.

I have tested a 1200 Triumph Tiger which was fine in traffic, but I did find it quite vibey at a steady Motorway cruising speed.

I think due to them changing the triple's crank to make it feel more like a V Twin.

I swopped my 1200 Monster for a Multistrada V2S last year as I fancied an adventure bike. I have to say that I never really liked the Multistrada and I'm definitely not a fan of adventure bikes now I have owned one for a year. I found the Multistrada was way too tall even though I'm 6'2" I struggled to get on and off it. It also felt really heavy when moving it about in the garage etc. The performance was a bit flat too and the brakes never felt that sharp to me. I felt it was more like riding a scooter than a bike and really didn't suit me.
I have now changed for a Streetfighter V4S which is far more fun
