I have just bought the Mrs a 660 Street triple S, which is restricted to A2 power.

She is currently doing her direct access so I'm thinking she can mooch about on it in A2 mode for a while and we can then get it derestricted.

Anyone been through the process? I'm assuming re-register and derestrict.

I'm actually having fun on it at A2 power on the little lanes near where I live.

It depends on how it's restricted. My old Speed Four had a physical throttle stop on it that restricted it to 33hp back in the day. AFAIK a lot of Triumphs are now "locked down" re the ECU and can be a massive pain for the average guy to mess with - assuming it's electronic.

No idea why you'd need to "re register".....

I bought one from Carl Rosner triumph a couple of years back and they derestricted it for about £190 before delivery. I never got to try the bike in A2 mode but it certainly wasn’t lacking any poke and nice exhaust note.

Good luck getting it sorted.

The logbook states its an A2 model. I have heard a bunch of stuff that it is a map and potentially a new throttle grip.

Cheers.

£50 says the insurers bend you over and don't use lube for that.

Well we'll find out soon as she passed her test today for A licence.
