I have had my 800 Ducati Scrambler for 9 months now. For me and the riding I do it is excellent. It feels like a quality machine, but the cost cutting in several areas shows.

I have gone all out and overkill with a Nitron R3 shock, and the fork internal will follow.

Even with it being a EU5 I’m really happy with the throttle feel. But the brakes. Good power but the feel isn’t great.

I’ve put in some of the road HH EBC pads and the stopping power is now more than enough. Rear is great now.

But the front is just too spongy. It had all the fluids done at Ducati Manchester on purchase (its a 2021). I don’t think it’s air trapped as if I pull the lever it doesn’t slowly sink. It’s just squishy in feel. Too much travel before any bite.

I may give the bleed another go. But, the better idea may be a better master cylinder. Does anyone know of a Brembo upgrade. Either from another model, or aftermarket?

Current setup below. Cheers!

For the £1 cost just change the fluid - properly because they probably didn't

You could try aftermarket hoses?

But I'd caution against meddling with an ABS system.
A little bit of give in the system might be optimum for the ABS.
Does it fee different from any other example of the exact same model?

I like the feel of the Brembo brakes on my ancient non-ABS bike, but that might just be a reaction to the crap I grew up with rather than optimum for the roads today.

Also, have the pads bedded in yet?

I use the calculator on here
https://www.acv.co.jp/galespeed_en/01_frontmasterc...

My zzr11 has had a few master cylinders so far, std, radial 15mm and currently a 17.5mm radial (cbr1000rr)
I'm thinking of a 19mm next.

I've got mine from eBay looking at a late gsxr one next

Thanks all. Yes the pads are bedded in. Was the same with the old ones. I was hoping this was the issue. Whilst I have more power, feel is the same.

Forums suggest this was an issue from the factory. And I believe the hoses are braided. I will try a bleed myself.
