As above

I’m going to the Netherlands on the 15th. Only riding from Dieppe to Utrecht so maybe 500 miles on the continent.
Are there any reasonably priced policies for breakdowns which cater for an older bike.

Motorcycle is a 2006 cbf1000 with 20000 miles in good condition.

Thanks in advance

Andy

Nova direct will provide cover for that kind of trip.

I expect you’ll only know how good are bad they are if you need to use them.

Id expect any cover like to involve them calling a local garage to come out to you so depends how they are ultimately.

Nationwide flexi bank account, I’m sure it doesn’t have restrictions.

Nationwide flex plus account for recovery and travel insurance.

Be aware that VERY few will guarantee recovery if the cost exceeds the value of the bike.....

Agree, lassie I used to work with had this issue when her ancient R6 broke down near Frankfurt. They asked her to go to the airport and fly back as cheaper than recovering the bike, which they were going to sell to a German scrappy. She went back next week with a van - but FGS read the small print.

Personal cover with the RAC covers any age of bike and you can add European travel. Interesting question on the recovery write-off small print.

Many thanks for the suggestions.

I was having a blond moment because when I checked my Bennett’s insurance policy I had signed up for the extra ultimate package giving me legal cover, helmet and gloves cover, personal accident cover and EU breakdown cover with rac.

Can’t find any age restriction in the policy and surely as Bennett’s have sold it to me knowing the bikes age it should be ok.

Regards

Andy
