Bike is a 2003 gsf 600 N cheap old beater had it for a year now

Its doing my nut in and can't seam to find a problem the only thing i haven't pulled off is the datatool alarm but that is tonight's job but would like a few opinions weather I'm going about it the wrong way

First time out this year a few weekends ago maintenance check all good and running fine, first run got 8 miles down the road going down a duel carriageway all fine drop it down a couple pegs to come to a stop at an island and it just cuts out,

starts again in neutral and revs fine no bogging clutch in still fine but as soon as i select gear DEAD,

managed to get home get the van and go and collect bike sound, get the bike home and in the shed and problem still persists.

Check side stand switch all good open curcuit when up and resistance when down ( Or maybe the other way round it give resistance one way up or down ) trace wires back to relay continuity all good

Neutral switch tests out fine as well resistance when in neutral and open when in gear 1 ( Or maybe the other way round ) and light works as should on the Tacho

one thing i have noticed is that when running and just about to be put in gear very very slowly doing this by hand it cuts out as soon as the neutral light goes out just before it drops into gear

there is a Datatool red alarm on it and it seams to be working as normal key in ignition on starts to beep press button it deactivates starts as normal, would the alam cut all power to coils if it donst see stand or neutral switch signals ?

Clutch cable has been replaced and clutch sensor on controls tested fine

clutch out and measured all in spec like brand new refitted with new gasket new oil ( Thought i might have clutch problem ) when in gear its got a resistance when trying to spin the rear wheel in gear with the clutch pulled in but will go round but tight, out of gear spins freely

jumper on the stand switch wiring, switch unplugged still no joy

new 7 pin relay still the same

im ready to kick the thing over and torch it

any words of wisdom and please excuse the mess in my shed bit tight in there at the minute

A friend had similar issues on a V Strom 650 and another with an SV1000. Both removed the switches from clutch and sidestand and the issue went away.

you say remove i can do this no problem and test it out, did you friend just remove or remove and install a blanking kit or imulator that pretends that its there but it physically is not there

I would also do a load test on the battery…may test fine static with no load but if a cell drops out, itll cut it out.

Had this happen mid ride on my GSXR1000…

No kit. The basically bypassed the switches and connected the circuit that way.
