Battery connections, will anything bad happen if…
Discussion
Hello,
I have a quick connector for a battery charger connected to my battery. I want to add a 12V socket to the bike, which will also be on the battery, it has a 10A fuse.
Will anything bad happen if I use the battery charger with something still plugged into the socket? (Sat nav, phone charger)

It's vaguely plausible with some 'maintenance' chargers, damage will occur.
What's supposed to happen is that the charger holds the battery at say 14.4V until it's fully charged, then drops to something like 13.5V to hold it at a float level.
The 'smart' charger MAY decide the battery is full when the current drops below a threshold at 14.4V.
So, drawing a current MIGHT mean the battery spends way too long at 14 + Volts, so loses all its water.
Various 'smart' chargers seem to switch from state to state by different decison processes including voltages/current thresholds, timers, 'test pulses' etc etc.
I've had some batteries killed by various trickle/maintenance chargers over the years. I now have one CTek which I move to a different battery every Tuesday. One bike battery is still good after 8 years, the other about 4 IIRC.
