My partner’s father has turned 80 his current insurance company has withdrawn business from Northern Ireland. He is struggling to find a reasonable deal on his BMW1200RT. I’ve pointed him at the MCN comparison site and also suggested Bemoto for a start point rather than the general comparison sites.

Does anyone here have any recommendations of brokers or companies who are good for older riders?
Would welcome any suggestions as he loves his bike and still does 2 or 3 big tours a year.

Try Footman James or Peter James as they both offer insurance to VMCC members, many of whom are elderly.

Most insurers cannot cover Northern Ireland due to their re insurance etc i would advise looking for a borker insurer in N Ireland, i have heard of Autoline but not sure if they do bikes.

Thanks for the info. That matches with what I’ve learnt.
