Fabulously late to the party clearly but a friend of mine has just offered me a pre-booked crossing for this years TT, just need to find somewhere to stay!

All the usual web searches show everything sold out, any ideas?

Hi
It's a bit late in the day to start looking, but there's a few facebook groups where people which post accomodation for rent during the TT.
You can also post requests.
I actually joined FB to take advantage of it; finding hotels is bloody hard work.

Depends on what you're willing to accept I suppose, and when you're looking for. If you need a house, then start hunting Homestay, not sure if the site is up and running or if the gov are involved any longer. They used to bring out weekly updates, but then went corporate, but I've not used it in years. I camp at Kirk Michael, plenty of sites, some offer glamping, some have hook ups, some on the course, some in quiet spots like Laxey football club, some have proper showers, some are like the rugby club at Quarter Bridge. B&Bs might be ok, but not all online, I used St Helier in Douglas, stayed there a few years ago out of TT time, had to ring them. Not many hotels, if there are, then corporates will have them booked up. Good luck.

Might be a daft question but where was your mate staying?
This late in the game you'll struggle for a hotel or B&B, even a lot of the homestays are booked a year ahead. Camping is most likely the best bet, but even then you'll need to book ahead, and if the weather is crap you're stuck with it!
If you can sort it though the TT is awesome.
Good luck.

Thanks for your inputs everyone.

My mates are staying somewhere a little way north of Ramsey, there seems to be loads of camping down Douglas way which isn't great fit with that!

This may not be my year...

Go anyway. Glen Lough is a good campsite near Douglas. I've stayed at Douglas rugby club too, which isn't bad but access is through a river when the roads are closed.

Glen Lough is a great location and the campsite is good. For the last few years we’ve stayed with a friend of a friend just outside Douglas. This year we’ve rented an apartment In Douglas.
However next year I don’t think the wife will be coming to the TT so I will camp at Glen Lough.

Have you checked Silly Moos? Not used it myself, but it’s near Ramsey and I think gives access during roads closed to the other side by the K tree?

Yeh, their website says they're closed for this year's TT sadly...

Also stayed in Glenlough, a number of times. Decent and friendly campsite, never had any issues aside from in very poor weather when our tents got wrecked in high winds Has a food van doing foot long hot dogs, delicious. Live music some eves. Facilities quite basic though.

Hope you make it over!

You might get lucky with homestay, otherwise camping is probably your best bet.
See you there
