BSB - Navarra, anyone going?
Discussion
I was thinking about it, but it would be a pricey weekend.
Flights from Newcastle are starting at £300+ then there would be accommodation, hire cars etc … makes it a dear weekend away.
I know the costs would be similar or even more expensive, but if I had a few mates to ride down there with then I’d have considered that instead, none of them have any appetite for it though.

I'll be there as my Lad's racing in Supersport. We're there Monday to Monday, and getting accommodation has been a bit of a pain as there's very little near to the circuit - We'v e got an AirBnb about 20 mins away now
For UK rounds, we take the caravan, but the thought of the trek down towing that, and then a week living in it a the circuit without washing facilities etc, put me right off, so we'll fly and the team will bring the bikes etc
It wouldn't be too bad if BSB provided Power in the riders living area, but they typically only provide over race weekend, and not at tests or extended race weekends like Navarra will be
Should be a good round though, and it'll be a fairly level playing field in all classes, as Navarra is currently being resurfaced and the layout of the track slightly restructured, so effectively no one will have been before and have data as last Spring's test data will be largely no use now

Well after spending half a day looking at travel options it isn't happening, I'd have to go for a week as there isn't daily flights, there's fk all to do in Bilbao and the surrounding areas and its likely to be cold (ish) being in the north of Spain and it would cost me £750 plus food and drink, I like BSB but not that much.
I am rather torn about this, I know Silverstone is not a popular place, but it is a venue that can easily hold BSB rounds, maybe they did not want it, but holding a race in such a faraway place is a but ridiculous, Assen OK, not as bad but it clearly did not make them any money or they would be back there.
IS there no way they could hold maybe a less races and championships round at say Mondello, Croft, even Castle Combe? I would welcome two rounds at Thruxton, easily the best racing all year.
Instead we get a jolly for all the teams and another race at a Palmer track. I understand why but it does smack a little of owner does what he wants regardless of certain tracks and regions. Oh and we all get a bloody free holiday.

Honestly, it’s not been a popular choice with many teams as that’s an expensive round IS there no way they could hold maybe a less races and championships round at say Mondello, Croft, even Castle Combe? I would welcome two rounds at Thruxton, easily the best racing all year.

Be nice if you wanted to share your lads name so we know who to look out for but I understand anonymity is sometimes good online! For UK rounds, we take the caravan, but the thought of the trek down towing that, and then a week living in it a the circuit without washing facilities etc, put me right off, so we'll fly and the team will bring the bikes etc

I tend to enjoy the support races as much as the big ones, but don't really have anyone specific to follow

I quite fancied down down to the first round in Navarra, bit of a novelty and all that.
Seems prohibitively expensive to go from Scotland, only real options are flying to Barcelona or Madrid which are both 4hr+ drives, and most of them are 2 flight journeys too. Partner doesn't fancy it so I would be looking at ~£500 for flights and hotels for one, nevermind car hire and tickets etc.
Don't think I'll bother, cant see there being much in the way of travelling fans!
I've ended up booking the NW200 instead. Over there for the best bit of a week, with a hire van etc and its working out cheaper than a weekend in Spain. @Graeme4130 as other have said anonymity is key, but if you/your young lad has any sort of merchandise I would happily pick something up to support the lad

I need to be in Bilbao the following Tuesday so am planning to either be there for the Sunday for the race unless I decide on Le Mans instead for the 24hr endurance race that weekend. I'll be riding over taking either the Portsmouth ferry if I go to BSB or the Shuttle if I go to Le Mans.
