Looking at the possibility of camping at Silverstone this year for Motogp. Is there anywhere other than the official campsite which costs a fortune for a pitched tent and nothing else?

We always stay at Woodlands, it's not cheap and I'm sure the prices have gone up again this year but you get a decent pitch in walking distance, music, comedy, beer tents etc.

We did it once for F1 too which was a much better set up re showers, toilets etc but cost an arm and a leg

Is dadford open? I'm sure it serves the MotoGP. Half the price and fairly close.

We did woodlands for the F1 but after 2021 (GP allowed to be attempted, soft ending of restrictions but entertainment etc not allowed) found we didn't miss it all that much, and quite happy to sit and relax at the tent after the invariably long day. Beers, BBQ, bit of music. Maybe we's old.

We are at woodlands this year having stayed at whittlebury last year. Woodlands is better for entertainment, Whittlebury for space and quietness.

We always head to Silverstone golf club.

It opens up its massive driving range, and more.

There are plentiful portaloos.

Vouchers can be bought for food in the clubhouse.

Use of showers is included in the price.

It's a handy 15 min walk to the track from there.
