Would you buy a category N bike
Discussion
I've noticed quite a few bikes declared with cat N being advertised with some hefty discounts. I have always steered clear of anything previously written off but the new categorisations suggest there is nothing structurally wrong with a cat N bike so as long as the cosmetic damage has been repaired is it something you would buy? Just interested to hear some opinions on this. Thanks
Had many Cat D or N bikes over the years. Two of our current bikes have been "written off" - t'other half's Harley that I bought back and did all the repairs myself, and my Legend that I bought sight unseen and was near immaculate and low mileage with a hefty discount over the usual price. You just need to be realistic with what you pay, or ask when you sell.
The Harley had previously been written off before my other half was knocked off it, what with all the other claims for injuries etc., it barely affected the insurance settlement.

Keep in mind that many will simply have been dropped and the cost for plastics is insane.
Also a fair few attempted thefts- be wary of steering locks damaging the frame.
Finally worth considering that some may have catastrophic engine damage but "dropped" to claim on the insurance..... not entirely unheard of.
