So since I have stripped my KTM supermoto for winter I bought this wee toy
2008 Suzuki RM250 (Last of the 2 stroke) from a lovely 65 year old - who competed in his last race with it 2 weeks before I bought it.
I have just done the following
Fitted new plastics
New graphics
New grips
That's all it needs. I have been out on it a few times already and it's a flying machine, I truly think it would leave my 450 behind.
Lucky to have the use of acres of fields until April time so putting it to good use.
I've had many many MX bikes over the years from newer ones 2020ish to a 97 CR250 and this is by far the best for hooning around on, I will head to the track over the Xmas period with it I think.

When I was going to start green laning my plumber sold me his bike
A CR250R - it was wheel spinning until it found grip and then it was wheelieing until I went for the next gear
Great fun for a short period in an open space
I sold it soon after and bought a KTM450 - far more usable but not as much fun

I had a couple of them myself. 2008 bought new in 2012 and a 2003 road registered but tweaked to be near identical as the 08
Both Dyno'd. 03 made 46.3hp and 08 made 47.1hp rear wheel
They are not as quick as 450s which all sit in the mid 50s hp now with a very big spread of torque but for fun factor I'd go 2 stroke all day long
I race a 1989 CR250 (Evo class) and 1995 CR250 (Super Evo class)
You'll have loads of fun on them. Arguably they are the better handling bike Vs the Hondas I now run. Sometimes wish I kept the 03 just for enduro etc
