Enduro / green laning kit
Discussion
I'm coming to the end of a KTM 690 Enduro R restoration and need some kit for tackling some greenlanes. Nothing too serious but will probably end up in the mud both upright and sideways lol. I've only ever had road bikes so would be looking for some advice on adventure style boots, gloves and an adventure style lid (ideally with intercom cutouts). I'm not into the loud MX colours on a lot of kit. TIA
Good knee braces are one of the most important items. Twisting and hyperextension can cause huge damage which may take surgery or years to heal, if at all.
Other than that, a decent bodyarmour suit is a great investment as are enduro boots, which differ from MX boots insofar has having a grippy sole. MX boots are often fairly slick underneath and useless in mud.
And beyond the normal, a decent 2 or 3 liter hydration pack that can carry small tool kit and keys etc.

Generally there are two camps
The ones who wear full MX gear
The ones who are worried about coming off on the road and wear road textiles and leather gloves with MX boots
Some wear body armour under the textiles but most don't
Having seen the road rash of the first group I'm firmly in the second, unless we're on an enduro practice day
The most common helmet is the LS2 Pioneer it's adequate, you have to spend a lot more to get a significantly better one IMO

Thanks for the pointers. That LS2 Pioneer looks good so I'll probably pick one of those up. I'll look into the knee guards and think about textiles going over the top, food for thought definitely. I don't want to wreck my knees but also have ensured road rash before and it isn't fun!
