‘Morning all…
Want to get some hose clips like these:

Sizes are many and varied… 7.3mm to 7.8mm, 7.8 to 8.3, 8.3 to 8.8 and so on.

Considering the clip has got to go over a flared nipple and the nominal o/d of the hose… what size / measurement do you choose to select the correct size?

Thanks!

Mike

Measure the outside diameter of the hose once it has been pushed over the fitting you wish to use it on.

As said above, its far easier to have an assorted set of them to hand anyway.

Thanks both. I only need about 6 and i was going to get mikalor, which are quite spendy, relatively speaking! Had a look at the Amazon stuff, and wonder about the quality. Although it’s only a hose clip and not likely to cause major issues. First world problems!

You can get an assortment box of Mikalor from Ebay, it has the sizes you need and more. I have used some of the bigger sizes on car hoses and washing machines, handy when you need one , especially when the original one has sprung out of the needle nose pliers and you cannot find it until a week later !
