I'm looking to start taking my lad on the bike next year. He's 10 now but will be closer to 11 at the time.
I'm trying to get him some 1 or 2 piece leathers as opposed to textile as we are also getting a pit bike for him to take on track. Really struggling to find anything anywhere. There's a few on ebay but I'm not sure of the quality as they're all made by brands I've never heard of! I've looked on Facebook marketplace assuming people will move them on when their kids outgrow them but there's never anything.
Surely others must have bought leathers for their children in the past? If so where did you go?

I searched "custom child motorcycle leather" in Google with serveral results, albeit no experience with any of them.
This potentially looks pretty decent:

For general pillion road riding I'd stick with leather jackets & textile or denim trousers, it's generally comfier and less of a faff to put on, which is important if you want them to enjoy themselves. Never bothered buying a full suit for my daughter as it wasn't necessary, but you have a point for leather on a track as good stuff will nearly always provide more slide protection.
If you have Facebook, join a relevant pit bike group and ask about, you'll get plenty of info.

As K1 says, ebay has some bargains.
Above post also reminded me BKS do full custom leathers, so could probably sort you out, but I'd not expect much change from a grand.
I'd say at least double that and probably more! My BKS are insured for £3500 but I am liable for the 'extra fat bAbove post also reminded me BKS do full custom leathers, so could probably sort you out, but I'd not expect much change from a grand.

BKS are actually a lot more diplomatic about their sizing surcharges but you get the idea

Jesus! Still, BKS make a quality product I believe.

I'm an average slim 5'8" so was able to get an RST Tractech suit off the shelf that fit perfectly for around £500, did it's job when I came off at about 80mph and was still usable!

I once read a magazine write up on BKS M2M leathers that said "at the price you wouldn't want to crash in them but you wouldn't want to crash in anything else"! I thought that summed it up beautifully!
The £5k suit was 'roo hide, which also adds to the cost.
My youngest son is currently using my BKS M2M cow hide suit I paid just over £1k for in 1996 and used for over 20 years (until it shrunk!
). It's had a couple of zips replaced since new but it's still looks great and the stitching hasn't gone anywhere. It really is a top quality item.
For kids kit you occasionally get ex-plod ladies BKS siuts on eBay. They tend to go for between £75 and £200. Very cheap top quality kit for your most valued.
