Looking at visiting the EICMA show in Milan for the 1st time this year.

Has anyone been before and have any recommendations for reasonably priced hotels / accommodation that’s a short walk or taxi ride away from the exhibition venue?

I went sometime in 2002-2004 for work, got very drunk and picked up (amongst other stuff) the UK importership for non-Ducati Termignoni as we all at the time owned RC30’s.

Anyway, other than the launch of the Moto Guzzi MGS-01, I recall Milan has a Metro system so the whole closeness / walkable / taxi distance can be very much extended to wherever you want.

I went last year, but opted for an private apartment type place nearer the centre. (Marcona24 if I recall) as I wasn't fussed for eating in a hotel so I wanted the option to roam.

Metro/Train goes straight to the venue so if you can't get accommodation nearby it's no real issue.

When I booked the flight was peanuts but the hotel a bit costly.

Presume this is miles and above the NEC to warrant going to Italy?

Flights and hotel wasn’t too costly to be honest, it did depend on where you want to fly from though.

Again, the hotel wasn’t badly priced. If we had wanted to spend a fortune on a hotel then it wouldn’t have been difficult to do so.

I'm going to Milan for the football in January. Airbnb offers significantly more for your money than hotels - can get a nice looking flat for less per night than a small room in a budget hotel where you have to sort your own breakfast

What dates are people going? Are the weekdays 7-10 Nov only for traders or can the public go then too? Otherwise it will be a busy weekend 11-12 Nov!
