Well, to get down to PH25 I managed to blag a Monster 937+ Demo bike for the day, and put 200 miles on it.

what can i say Im still on my first road bike that i bought in 2008 which was a new Monster 695. ( with obligatory Termi exhaust and lots of carbon bits) Id expected to change it for something bigger after a year or two, but never liked the new models enough to change it.

The styling on the 937 is a big departure with different tank line, and lack of trellis and some would say more generic japanese looking. But it seems to be growing on me and everyone else by the look of the sales numbers...

So what was it like, in a word AWESOME. i took a long route over the cotswolds and included a bit of motorway on the way back too, so had everything from 20mph limits, to fast open A road to motorways. pootling around in traffic and following stuff on A roads it felt very like the 695 in terms of performance, if anything my 695 with the less restrictive exhaust and larger rears procket felt like it had a bit more bottom end, but open the 937 up and wow you can certainly feel the extra 30-40 bhp, and the gear change with the up/ down quick shift was sublime.

Steering was light years ahead of my bike, lighter, quicker, and more lock when maneuvering, the brakes were fantastic too, light on the lever, powerful with lots of modulation.

The 937 has multiple rider modes with abc, tcs, and anti wheelie, all with changeable levels and the electronics felt seamless. one of the reasons i'd like a later bike is that as i don't do lots and lots of miles the abs and tcs does actually appeal to stop me doing something stupid, as long as its not intrusive, and this seemed fine.

The first time i had a clear road for an overtake, I pinned the throttle , and banged it up the gears on the quickshift with the front wheel just lifting on the wheelie control, I may have uttered Fk ME quite loud to myself in my helmet lol... The monster is a right giggle.

The best way to summarise what i thought of the 937 is the fact I left the Ducati store with an order for a Monster 937 SP in place lol.... hopefully coming in September and cant wait. The 695 is staying too lol
