Hope someone can help…

I need to order a new rubber base grommet for the fuel pump. It’s the base that the pump sits in when the pump assembly is together, it’s like a small rubber foot that takes the pickup sock on it as well. I can’t find it in the uk as an individual item.

Any help very gratefully received.

Have you tried here? Worked for me when Fowlers Parts didn't...

No joy there, cheers for the link though.

It's this bit (the rubber part) which I can order from America but the postage is more than the part.

I'm building the bike for a friend and trying to keep their parts bill low, so if anyone does have a UK supplier they can suggest, I'd be grateful.

Suzuki tend to use the same part for lots of models so I wonder if this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284036551094?var=0&... might work.

I think this is the part that is being sought.

It's more of a "rubber boot" than a grommet. The pump sits on the round bit and the strainer goes on the end. It doesn't look like Suzuki ever listed fuel pump parts separately and therefore there's no part number to search. The one listed in the US looks like an aftermarket part so no clues there either. At least a US made fuel pump part is very likely to be ethanol resistant.

So no help from me either!! People may better understand what they're looking for now though.

OP find the factory part number - this bit will also likely be fitted on other models too so it makes sourcing from a breaker/ebay tenfold easier.

The Japanese Kaizen 'continual improvement' idea of a new model every year, lose a kg, gain another bhp or two makes for great sportbike engineering but hugely complicates buying parts.

https://www.ronayers.com/

This site can tell you every other model which uses the same part, quite useful sometimes

Yeah if searching online is of any significance you'll be getting the grommet from the USA. But look on the bright side - it'll be cheaper than getting the whole fuel pump assembly locally for just the grommet. You might choose to do the whole assembly as a "while we're there for the first time in twenty three years...." and put a new pump in there.

I've bought loads of parts for my SRAD from Meltedsliders on ebay, I believe the guy buys and breaks bikes for parts. Maybe worth contacting him, unless you need a brand new part?

'rubber' gaskets / o rings on bike carbs can swell when in contact with petrol - if you get stuck, maybe try reusing it, but give it 24hrs soak in fuel first.
