It was!
I was really hoping that wee John could hold on for a podium.
Brilliant job by T Mac.

All of the podium finishers did an incredible job in tricky conditions but properly made up for Taz and his team and you could see what it meant to Midori Moriwaki.
Did the conditions help? Maybe but the guys who stayed out still had to ride through the same conditions. This just proves a point i made elsewhere on ph that F1 likes to think it's the pinnacle of motorsport but it cannot compete with that race.

Don’t mind admitting a small tear watching Taz cross the line as the winner & watching Midori tear up.. Just brilliant! clap

Cracking racing in WSBK & SSP, amazing to see Taz winning considering the season they've had so far. Rea, Toprak & Bautista providing some great entertainment, top stuff.

Considering the Honda is by far the worst bike on the SSP grid, it was an outrageous achievement for Taz and the team.
And but for a delaminating tyre, the WSBK title race could be ao much different but this year is so up and down but is providing such amazing racing

Has that been confirmed now? I know from pausing the replays it did look like the tyre pulled itself off the rim.

Yep, Yamaha boss Paul Denning did an interview with James Toseland. He was absolutely gutted.

That's an amazing picture. Bad luck for Toprak as it was a great race between he and Bautista up to that point!

Yes it is a shame as he would have reduced the deficit to Bautista a bit more which would have made the remaining rounds far more entertaining - see 2019 for an example - but alas it is not to be.
Still lots of rumours about Rea jumping from Kawasaki to Yamaha floating about, i guess not helped by the fact despite Kawasaki being given 500 more revs, they are not using that extra ability and if you believe Rea, Ducati have been penalised 500 revs, during his reign he was docked 1400 revs in total.
Weird situation but there you go.

That is a cracking picture! Settles any conjecture about what happened, shame as that was a fair old dingdong between the two.

I heard Kawasaki were working on new cams to make use of the extra revs, hopefully ready for the next round?

Fair play to Shakey.

He called it very early on in the (Eurosport) commentary.

What a picture !!

There will be huge fall out regarding that as Pirelli was supposed to bring a tyre to stop exactly that from happening at this track.

Massive shame for Toprack. Luckily got away without injury. I wonder if Pirelli get an invoice for the damage caused ?

The rain is a huge leveller and congrats to Taz , must be a great feeling being able to use his experience in the wet / dry changing conditions.
