Beeline - How to keep it bright??

I've got the Beeline and find it very useful, however is there a way to keep it on the bright setting. I find it quite hard to see on the normal setting, especially in the bright weather. As a result I end up spending too much time looking at it trying to read it, instead of looking at the road!

Every time I turn up the brightness, it just goes back to being dull again after a few minutes.

Not used one, but looks like you need to turn the backlight on to manual
