2 piece leathers

Hi folks,

Looking for recommendations on a leather 2 piece for road use and the very odd track day.

Currently have richa textiles.

Would rst tractech evo 4 be OK?

Any recommendations on airbags?

I’ve got the base spec RST and find them to be of excellent quality and fit.

The Evo version is top level RST. The only negative you may find is they are a bit too track focussed.

If you buy them through sportsbikeshop the returns policy is great and you could swap them no problem.

One thing for trackdays you will need a zip that fastens a full 360 degrees, seems that people are being turned away for zips not going all the way around now.

I recommend trying on as many different leathers as possible, then buying whichever fits you best.

Alternatively, you could buy lightly-used leathers from one of the top-end brands (Scott Leathers, Hideout, BKS Exmouth) in a slightly larger size via eBay. Then get a specialist (e.g. Hideout or Hill4Leather) to tailor them to your precise fit. I recommend this option from first-hand experience because it’s a great way to get made-to-measure leathers affordably.

That's interesting about the 360 zip, had a quick look and the rst ones mention 360 connecting zip so they should be fine

Yup, these are nice bit of kit. The leather feels much better than the base RST offering.

I wear a backpack for most of my riding so not sure if it's even possible to use an airbag at the same time?

Airbag jacket is tempting because more safety is better but it’s not night and day vs a good jacket with armour.

They are also expensive and a bit uncomfortable as the bag is essentially a plastic layer between you and the outside.

If you go for one the Astars version is a better ownership prospect than in inmotion ones.
