Hi all

Looking for some recommendations for a commuter bike/scooter. A nice size as i'm 6'2 and 100kg.
My commute will be 40 miles a day (20 each way) and a mixture of 40, 50 and 60mph roads which are all quiet. I wish i could go for a bigger bike but that's a couple of years off just yet.

Thanks all

For your commuting needs, I recommend considering the Honda CB500X. It's a versatile motorcycle that offers a comfortable riding position for taller riders like yourself. With a 471cc engine, it provides sufficient power for your commute while being fuel-efficient. It's also well-suited for both city streets and highway speeds.

Err he's literally said he wants a 125 as he clearly hasn't passed his test.
OP the old answer used to be the 125 varadero, but I'm sure someone will be along to suggest something a bit newer.

I’d say even now it’s still the Varadero 125. I had one for a while before getting my DAS and it was brilliant, I wish I had kept it.

OP, I’m 6’1 and 90kg and never had a single issue. Regularly did runs to the coast (80 mile) easily, saw GPS verified 75mph often, never once let me down and was just good fun to ride!

A twenty two stone, six foot plus mate of mine bought a Suzuki Van Van, as it was the most comfortable bike he could find given his size. I tried it, and with the wide bars and fat seat it didn't feel much smaller than my 1200 Sportster (tho' it was obviously less substantial). Whether or not there are any about, I have no idea as I believe they have been out of production for a few years.

I am doing my DAS, but have been honing my skills on a CB125R. I’m 6ft2 and 16 stone and it does not feel cramped. It’s great to ride. With just 13hp I go out for an hour and come back 3 later. Even more beneficial for you is that it’s been totally reliable.

The CB125R has the benefit of ABS brakes. If you are commuting in winter/dark a real bonus IMHO
