Is anyone aware of a good motorbike mechanic in Newcastle?
I have a MT07 that needs an engine swap.

Thanks!

Everyone seems to mention Armstrong Engineering at the bottom of the West Road. Nice old-school place. I've only ever used them for MOTs but no dramas. The bikes that hang around the "showroom" at the front are all horrible so don't expect anything flashy, although they have a good reputation for spannering.

That's going to cost you a fk ton in labour. Might be more economical to sell as is and start again.

Will see if I can get some quotes first and go from there.

What is wrong with the engine that is currently in the bike?

It blew a hole straight through the block on the A19.
I haven't investigated but looks to be a rod maybe. I had just got it back from an MOT and a £300 bill for a new air flow sensor as welll.... sods law!

Hence the engine swap.

If you do a swap make sure you understand why the other one let go. It could for example have been running lean due to a faulty air flow sensor.

I’d strip it for parts or sell as is rather than swap the engine.

After the above advice and thinking about it, going to get rid as is.
I don't want the hassle of something going wrong again.

Already getting the joyful messages.... 'what's your best price' & 'how much for cash'

Thanks for all the replies.

Now to find a new motorbike biggrin
