Wiring Gauge for bike loom
Discussion
I’ve been fiddling around with the wiring on my Enfield and need to make up a small section of wiring loom
Wondering what wiring gauge I should use, main concern is that I don’t pick something too thin and it melts
This link suggests 18 or 20 gauge will be fine , I only need to make up a small lead (say 30cm long) and its only got to carry a couple of Amps. I could try and buy a few different sizes and try and match what’s there on the existing looms, but hoping I can get some guidance from the PH massive.
Thanks, Ace

I don't know if that will help?:

I googled 'Which cable for motorcycle looms'.

Personally I would use a cable that is appropriately sized to exceed the fuse protecting it
If it's a repair of an existing circuit, it's an easy choice. For a new circuit though, I'd look at the current draw, fuse appropriately and then pick something slightly larger for the cable. But I'm always a bit over cautious about these things.
