I went to an enduro free ride practice on Saturday with my lad. His bike broke as we were loading it so we shared mine for the day.
He absolutely loved riding mine and found himself significantly faster and more confident with it being an enduro bike rather than his usual MX.

We decided to go looking for a more suitable bike for him over the last couple of days and popped into Holeshot in Salisbury this afternoon just for a look.

I only ended up giving the lad my bike and buying a brand new GasGas 300 2t!!!!!!!
The current offers they have on to clear the MY23 and make space for the MY24 makes it only a tiny bit more money for brand new than a year old bike with unknown wear and tear.

I really needed a 2 stroke in my life, can't wait to collect it now biggrin

What was your current bike? I did an Ady Smith day in 2019 and the 300 2t was an absolute animal! It rained all day and it was so powerful. Ended up flipping it and dislocating my shoulder haha.

I got on with the 350 4t the best, felt like a pro riding that is was so easy.

Funnily enough my current bike is a KTM 350 4t and as you say it's really easy to ride. Bloody quick too!

I've wanted a 2 stroke for ages and I'm hoping that the lack of engine braking will help develop my rear brake control which is definitely an area I need to improve.

I rode a mates Beta 300RR over the weekend and absolutely loved the power delivery, I'm hoping the GasGas is broadly similar

Make sure to keep a good stock of rear brake pads on the van biggrin

Nice man maths upgrade!

The two strokes are great for tractoring at low rpm or letting rip with the RPMs,

Lovely choice. KTM 300 2T owner here. Lots of smiles with the 2T and cheap (ish) to maintain (when you don't crash it lots).

TE300i rider here, love the power, love the grunt even more.
I prefer the soft map rather than the banzai map as it’s a lot less frantic.

It's all good. The people who make your new bike sort of did the same and no one seems to have taken any offence to it hehe
