Are there any bodywork shops which will touch up paintwork and decals where required? I'm aware of shops which do full resprays or custom paint jobs, but my bike is a stock, but unusual colour scheme, and trying to find good condition replacement panels is difficult and expensive. There is no major damage, but general marks on a 22 year old bike which it would be nice to touch up.

Thanks

Dunno if it would be in scope of an airbrush artist to match up some paint and blow it over where it’s needed?

I have regular bike customers taking in scuffed fairing panels, the paints are all available and the decals can all be ordered online if it's a common model, or a sign maker can make replicas if they are no longer available.

Never had any problem at all. Just take it to a local bodyshop it doesnt have to be a bike specialist or anything.

Might be worth finding out who your local Aviva Insurance approve bike bodyshop is.

Friend dropped his RC30, was reluctant to use the insurer approved 'shop but the owner got talking to him, was knowledgeable and assured my mate. Bike went in, mate was so impressed, got some wear & tear damage sorted on rest of bike.

Funny you should say that, there is a fantastic bodyshop up the road who are owned by Aviva and have done wonders on a previous car before, but unfortunately they stopped doing private work a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't think a car body shop would be that interested in doing bikes but will investigate with a couple of local ones.

I have done this with a few bikes, local bodyshop up the road from me. Excellent work and fast, especially smaller jobs which they can fit in between full respray on cars and vans. Find a recommended bodyshop in your area and use them, it will probably be cheaper than a so called bike specialist as well.
I had a full bike respray done by a well known so called bike specialist years ago, I had to get them to do it twice as the first time the orange peel was obvious from six feet away and in place you could actually see the primer underneath the top coat.

Ask your local independent bike shop, tyre/mot/servicing type place, they will know the local painters.
