New Bike (for me) Time
Discussion
So after a ton of tooing and froing about what to get for the road i stumbled across a mint 30k km KTM 1190S Adv.
Having had one years ago that did me sterling service in Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania etc I always had a soft spot for this model. Analogue dash with a small digital info screen, decent tech like electronic suspension, multiple riding modes, selectable ABS etc it always seemed to be a sweet spot in terms of analogue vs digital balance.
This one is in mint condition, PO was fastidious with oil changes every 3000 kms, new rear tyre and chain, serviced (by KTM) front forks and a ton of tasty extras like OEM heated grips, panniers, rad guard, Akra exhaust, bash plate, crash bars etc.
I'll be adding a couple of extras like the fuel dongle (retains suspension/mode settings after turn off), light guard and HID lights
And with a new 1290R costing $25k plus 13% tax here it made no sense to drop that kind of $$$ on a bike with a 7 month riding season when this is less than half that amount... The other toys need using too in the short year. ...
Looking forward to getting on something with a bit of zip again and hopefully do a few adv rides while the weather is good....(Bob Defly, I'm looking at YOU!! )

Nice and in the only KTM appropriate colour
My first one was in the alternative grey which irked me slightlyThis was such a great model but KTM had to kill it to make room for the 1290 and the 1090 to co-exist in the range. Even in 2013 it was making 150bhp, only 10 shy of the 1290 and a LOT more than the 1090...
Or maybe you should never revisit your older bikes.....I guess we'll see soon enough !!
