Police interceptors
Discussion
Stringer's driving was also appalling in the examples recently discussed. Also an unfortunate number of evidential difficulties preventing convictions after some terrible driving / riding. Is the PTSD claim a real and verified thing? Or is it assumption based on his behaviour and sensitivity / inclination to be triggered ?
The lad on the s1000rr was taking the absolute pee last night. I guess he didn't know the helicopter was watching him and by the time he worked it out, he was in very deep due to his grim riding and TWOCing of the bike, incorrect registration etc... So decided to try and brave it out... Seems these examples are rarely a bloke on a bike he owns and is insured on etc. I didn't see the end, was he convicted ?

I know he was riding illegally and dangerously, but he couldn't half handle that thing. He'd be some rider on a track if he wasn't such a moron.
I didn't really see it like that from the footage we saw (I only watched on a phone and most was quite a distance from the helicopter). He pulled the odd wheelie, kept the bike pinned in some dodgy places, but I'm not sure I saw anything to suggest he was a talent ?Hungrymc said:

The police car driver kept him in sight. I don't think he was a good rider. KurtFlew said:

I find it much harder to ride a big bike fast than to push a car to its limits on the road but the speeds a bike can get to in a short space is amazing once they are rolling 50-100 is very easy.

I'm always jealous of people who can pop wheelies easily, whether they're being chased or not!
Yes, it is something that is a bit to scary to do badly.I was out with a friend a few weeks ago and wound it on a bit over a hump in the road and popped a massive wheelie - my mate was suitably impressed but I hadn’t really meant to do it, being able to do that on demand might become a bit addictive.

If anyone in here would like to post their 100mph clutch up wheelies between traffic I'll gladly watch.
ooh no it'll only add to the hate threadEdited by KurtFlew on Tuesday 23 May 20:10
wife always asks if i can do it when its shown on tv - i can't only by accident over hump back bridges

It's an assumption, which I consider to be giving him the benefit of the doubt, otherwise it's an ingrained character flaw which makes him unsuitable for his job.I did happen to discuss this in passing with a retired North Yorks cop of long experience who appeared to know Stringer (without actually explicitly confirming) and entirely agreed that most officers will end up with PTSD considering all the horrible things they have to deal with.
Which is all very well and they do have my sympathy, I certainly wouldn't want to deal with that part of the job (other parts appeal to me a great deal!), but it's no excuse. The rest of the North Yorks officers are professional and polite to a fault, even when faced with some obnoxious scrotes of the highest order!
