New Bike Weekend
Discussion
My second bike and moved up a league !
After a few years on my 790 Duke it went on Saturday morning and I also took delivery of a 900 mile 2022 S1000r.
I looked at the Triumph 1200 speed triple RS, but found it just to big for me, the Tuono Factory, an awesome bike but just couldn’t get comfortable on it and the 1290 SDR, but getting a test ride was difficult and this just reminded me of how woeful the dealer network is for KTM so I ruled this out. When I took the BMW out really clicked with it.
Managed to get a few hundred miles done over the weekend and really gelled with the bike. Obviously a huge step up in power, the engine isn’t as characterful as the duke but it’s a lot smoother, the Duke was a real pig at low speeds due to the lean fuelling but this is very smooth.
It handles very well, although the ride is quite firm.
Changed the end can and fitted a rad guard and some bar end mirrors, got some panniers on order then of to Le Mans on the 8th June
