Any one off to the Isle Of Man for the TT. Seen a lot of ferry tickets up for Resale. Think cost of living is starting to hit.

Yes, five of us going over in a van on Tuesday of race week for 4 days.
We camp at Douglas Football Club and smoke around on 450 enduros of varying pedigree.
Love it.

More likely scalpers than distressed sales.

I had a look at the Duke packages which were north of £4k for two people for a week. I expect them to sell out.

No bikefrown, going as a foot passenger with the wife for only 4 days this year.

Looking forward to it and Michael and Dean have been looking really strong on the short circuits and at the NW200 to maybe take it to Peter on the Big Bikes.

Should be some great racing. Fingers crossed for the weather.

Always been a thing I need to tick off the bucket list...
If I wanted to go next year when is the time to book? Also is accommodation available as I couldn't camp.. maybe I will have to do the classic instead if that is easier to get accommodation

Hi didnt think it was worth having 2 TT 2023 threads running , so going to ask on this one .

It will be my first time at the TT and im going from the 5th to the 12th now by plane , staying at Douglas rugby club.

I been watching lots of you tube and forums of places to watch , but any tips from you lovely people ?

I will be on foot or working out how to get the bus/ tram to get further around the island , or walk where possible.

Is there a programme or any good info on the times of the practice sessions and racing ?

I am presuming / Hoping there will also be somewhere to buy some camping gas for my little stove as I cant bring over that on the plane.
As well as lots of local shops open for food pasta etc to buy .

Any tips or advice or anything that you may think useful for me would be really appreciated , many thanks

In previous years there's been a bus service specifically to drop spectators around the track, then pick them up again once the roads open.

You can find the planned schedule there:
https://www.iomttraces.com/racing/page/2023-schedu...

But be aware that the schedule will change, so you'll need to keep checking.

You'll find what you need to buy in douglas, there are a few camping shops around iirc.

ETA: take a look here for the bus services:
https://www.iombusandrail.im/timetables-routes-and...

ETA again: grab a GoCard from the airport once you land, so you get unlimited travel on the busses/trams/trains:

I believe the ferries for the following year go on sale just before practice weeks starts for the current year, so right about now-ish.

ETA, tomorrow in fact:

From Douglas Rugby Club, depending on how much you like a walk, you’ll be able to get to a fair chunk of the track on foot - I stayed a bit further up the road at Ballafletcher Rugby Club one year and walked all the way from there to Hillberry once. Plus you’ll be able to get to all the grandstand/pits and paddock and the outside of the track even while roads are closed via the footbridge at the top of Bray Hill.

As others have said, the bus will serve you well if you have no other means of transport, but be prepared for long waits for buses that don’t run to the published schedule. Everyone is in the same boat though so it’s all good.

Other tips - make sure your phone/sim allows you to use your data and minutes on the Isle of Man without racking up a huge bill. You’ll need/want the data to find out what’s going on, when roads are opening/closing, and to listen to the Manx Radio TT live stream.

We stayed at the rugby club last year also on foot. Walked into Douglas and the paddock area most days and walked to Crosby for one of the practice sessions which was quite the trek!

Anything further and we got taxis, they were cheap enough when split 3 ways.

You can buy camping gas in Millets in Douglas.
Foodwise there are plenty of small local shops to buy food and Shoprite is the local supermarket chain and there is a big Shoprite store very close to the paddock. There are also Tesco and M&S stores in Douglas.
